Bio-Engineering and Vegetation Structure for Slope Stabilization and Erosion Control

Bio-engineering is a proven cost effective tool applied for slope stabilization and erosion control. This technique provides an information and knowledge for the integration of vegetation methods with normal engineering practices. SchEMS in collaboration with some experts developed a 10 day intensive training course in bio-engineering at different situation with particular emphasis on:

» methods using vegetation for protection and stabilization
» small scale engineering techniques to complement the vegetation methods
» description of vegetation species used in bio-engineering

The training program is substantiated by demonstration of case studies and site visits. The course is delivered by a group of highly skilled and well-known specialists.
