Started career as Assistant Professor in Ecology (1970) and Associate Professor (1985) at Tribhuvan University, Nepal,

Currently serving as a Dean of Environmental Faculty of Pokhara University Nepal since 2000

Has worked as consultants, researcher, project management, trainer and lead trainer in the field of environmental management, Environmental Impact Assessment, Initial Environmental Examination, Environmental Screening and Environmental Planning and Sustainable Development for the government of Nepal, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, CIDA, DANNIDA, UNDP, UNEP, IUCN, USAID, WWF and many others, in Nepal and outside,

Has carried out major responsibilities of the establishment of EIA practices in Nepal as Coordinator for EIA program of IUCN-The World Conservation Union (1989-1997) on deputation from the University:- formed Environmental Core Group consisting of multi-disciplinary team of experts from the government Ministries, Departments ,NGOs and private sectors to develop a series of EIA Guidelines, developed A National EIA Guidelines, EIA Guidelines for Forestry, Industry, Water resources, Road construction, Water Supply, Urban and Housing sectors including Landfill site Development, developed IEE/EIA Report review and accreditation criteria for EIA practitioners, has carried out institutional analysis and developed human resource development plan and inter-ministerial coordination mechanisms for EIA implementation, worked as a member secretary of the task force of Environmental Protection Agency identified industrial pollution hot spots and developed pollution control mechanisms,

Has undertaken as a team leader and environmental specialist in many EIA study and implementation in Nepal and out side, some of them are: Melamchi Water Supply Project, 132/66/33 kV Transmission Line(Tintibi-Yurmoo-Garpang & Yurmoo-Chuchekha) Bhutan, Environmental Screening study for 6 sub- projects funded by World Food Program including vegetable farming, goat farming, fish culture, river training road construction and small scale irrigation (2002), IEE study of Brick Kiln, Plastic Industry, Stone Crusher and dairy development, EIA of 14 MW Upper Modi Hydro project, he was also a senior environmental specialist for Private sector Hydropower Project, IRG/USAID (2001-2004) etc.

» More than 40 scientific articles 30 technical papers, 6 books, 43 reports, researches, and reviews on different aspects of the environment.
