Environmental Day 2006 [05/06/2006]

On the occasion of World Environmental Day 2006 (Deserts & Desertification: "Don't Desert Drylands!", SchEMS organized different programs to show its solidarity for the day. SchEMS's Environmental Day program started with college and bank of Bagmati river clean up program. Dr. Ananda Raj Joshi (Director "Academic Department") inaugurated the program. Students, faculty members and college staff participated in the program. After clean up program students were involved in discussion program. Mr. Surya Man Shakya (Director "R&D Department") was the chair person of the program. Dr. Ananda Raj Joshi gave speech on importance of Environmental day and various aspect of environment. Students of B.Sc, Bikash Tripathi, Deep Jay Sharma, Manoj Gautam and M.Sc. Krishna Bhandari expressed their thoughts on various aspect of environment. Mr. Surya Man Shakya also expressed his thoughts and raised his voice for the necessity of at least one branch office of UNEP in Nepal. Dr. Kunjani Joshi (Coordinator "Academic Program") concluded discussion program with thanking speech. Today's program was ended with some documentary show.
